Ticket Sales Status for the 20th Asian Games (2026, Aichi/Nagoya)

We held a press conference today regarding Regarding the article “Ticket Sales for the 20th Asian Games (2026, Aichi/Nagoya) Surpass 1 Million” , some media reports have stated that “a total of 2.3 million tickets are expected to be sold for this event.”
However, this figure of 2.3 million is close to the total seating capacity of the Asian Games competition venues. In reality, in addition to the seats available for sale, we must set aside seats for the press and invited guests; furthermore, depending on camera positions, some seats may be obstructed and therefore cannot be sold as tickets.
For this reason, the number of tickets actually available for sale (*) will be significantly lower than this 2.3 million figure. (I made this point clear during the Governor’s press conference on September 8.)

Regarding ticket sales, we are coordinating with event organizers and other stakeholders to secure as many seats as possible for sale—excluding those that cannot be sold, such as obstructed-view seats—and are working diligently every day to ensure that as many people as possible can attend the games.
As a result, we currently expect to secure approximately 1.4 million seats for sale, and the overall ticket sales rate is projected to exceed 70 percent.

We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has supported us, and we will continue to make every effort to sell tickets until the very end.

*At the Games, the number of camera seats is subject to change right up until the last minute, which determines which seats will be restricted view seats; therefore, the number of tickets available for sale fluctuates daily.
